Simon is a UK-based artist painting portraits, figures, still life and landscapes in the tradition of the old masters. Looking for more than art college could offer, he trained in the atelier system at London Fine Art Studios, Sarum Studios in Salisbury and the Charles Cecil Studios in Florence, learning the methods of painters such as Velázquez and Sargent.

Working mainly in oils and charcoal, he brings that classical training to every piece, with close attention to drawing, light, form and colour. His work keeps alive skills that are becoming rare in contemporary art.
